We would like to point out that June is the peak season for tourism, and that there may be few flights and hotel accommodations available during this period, and we encourage the press to book tickets as soon as possible. Press accreditation applications can be found at the bottom of the page.

The Royal Couple will arrive in Svalbard on Sunday, June 15, and visit the Farmhamna hunting station, one of two manned hunting stations in Svalbard. There will be a press pool at Farmhamna.

During their visit to Longyearbyen on Monday 16 June, The Royal Couple will be welcomed at the town square and will experience a performance with speeches and cultural elements from Longyearbyen's diverse cultural life. The Royal Couple will also visit Svalbard Museum and Mine 7 outside Longyearbyen. Monday evening there is a gala performance in Longyearbyen Cultural Centre.

On Tuesday, June 17, The Royal Couple will visit the Svalbard Satellite Station (SvalSat) and the University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS).

About accreditation
Full name and medium are a prerequisite for accreditation. Accreditation requires a valid press card or equivalent. Application for accreditation is made here: https://skjema.no/sysselmesteren/PRESSE

The program is still being planned, and changes may occur. Accredited press will receive a separate press program where the press meeting time is included.

Drone ban in Longyearbyen
We would like to point out that in Longyearbyen it is not permitted to fly drones closer than 5 kilometers to Svalbard Airport, unless permission has been given from the air traffic control tower. The whole of Longyearbyen is therefore within the prohibition zone. Drones are prohibited in all protected areas in Svalbard, and it is not allowed to disturb wildlife.
