Self-preparedness week 2024
Self-preparedness week 2024 takes place this week (October 28 – November 3). Updated advice on self-preparedness was launched this spring, where the recommended duration of self-preparedness increases to one week.
In the autumn of 2018, the campaign You are part of Norway's preparedness was launched, with the focus that everyone should think through what incidents and accidents can happen, and plan to be able to take care of themselves and those around them in the event of the loss of critical infrastructure, as for example electricity, water and mobile networks.
In May 2024, the advice on self-preparedness was updated. The biggest change is that the recommended duration of self-preparedness increases from at least three days to one week. During Self-preparedness week 2024, a new brochure with useful information is sent in the post to all households in the country.
