Report the discovery of dead birds and animals

Since bird flu has been detected in Svalbard for the past two years, it is important to follow developments this year as well. The Governor therefore wants reports from the public if they come across dead birds or dead animals.

Send an e-mail to the Sysselmesteren at firmapost@sysselmesteren.no with the position of where the birds or animals were found, the number and photo if possible.

It is very rare for people to become infected with bird flu, but you should avoid handling sick or dead birds or animals without protective equipment.
